The Controllable Color?

Publication of the text “The Controllable Color?” in the book Dimensions of Production Design in the Audiovisual Experience, organized by production designers and researchers Benedito Ferreira, Elizabeth Motta Jacob, Iomana Rocha, Nivea Faria de Souza and Tainá Xavier.

The publication highlights the interpenetrations between practices (which are reflective) and reflections (which imply practices), as well as promoting exchanges between researchers in the field of production design from all over Brazil, encouraging new investigations. Far from having the intention of exhausting the debate on the direction of art, the collected texts contribute to the consolidation of the field in the Brazilian scholarly production. Just as the work of production design is the result of community, a field like this can only benefit from the existence of spaces for exchange and sharing. By identifying the historical, material and sensory aspects capable of reflecting on political and social dynamics, whether on screen or off, or by proposing approaches to teaching the field, we go through some dimensions of production design in the audiovisual experience.
