Maria do Ingá

Production design for the feature film Maria do Ingá, by Th Fernandes and Lua Lamberti (2024, in post-production). In the countryside of Paraíba, Tuca and her sister Maria experience a life of hardships, working in the household of a landowner after the passing of their father. Maria falls in love with the landowner’s son, Raí, but a hidden secret separates them, forcing Maria to flee to the city of Maringá, in Paraná. Years later, Raí, still in love, searches for Maria, only to find out that she has already passed away. The film also delves into the importance of the Companhia de Terras Norte do Paraná in the development of Maringá. Hundreds of people from the Northeast joined the Companhia, not only as a means of escaping drought in the Northeast but also drawn by the promise of employment and a chance to restart on fertile land.
